OK to exfoliate before a facial mask?

First of all I'm a guy - is it ok to exfoliate with one of the little bufpuf things i got while i wash my face, then shave, and then apply a facial mask - all in the same day?? The mask has alpha hydroxy type stuff in it supposedly for exfoliation purposes in the ingredients.. although I doubt much.OK to exfoliate before a facial mask?
Okay. Alpha Hydroxy is a chemical exfoliant, which basically means that it uses chemicals to irritate away dead skin as opposed to using little beads to manually scrub it off. It can be a little more drying, so make sure you apply moisturiser after you use it. Those netty little buff puffs don't really do much exfoliation-wise, but shaving is really tough on your skin. So if your skin is dry or sensitive, i wouldn't do all three at the same time. But if you shave in the morning, it's probably fine to use the face mask at night.... gives your skin some time to recover.
